Lose Weight Fast: How to Do It Safely
These
tips are not just about losing weight they are also about
influencing your quality of life, by taking into consideration what you
eat; it's about maximising your quality of life with nutrition,
exercise, detox and good mental health.
Consider Incorporating the following equation to get a healthy, fit:
body, 15% exercise,35% nutrition and 50% detox. For instance walking
more than 30 minutes each Day will give you your15%
exercise. Here are ten points for you to ponder and commit to your memory
bank and take on board as you start your journey to discovering that
healthy, trim new you
Starting point
1. Keep a food diary:
Now
when I first wrote down everything I had eaten throughout the day, I
have
to admit it was an eye-opener. Until then I had no idea how much I was
actually eating in a day. This is a good way to focus on not only how
much you are eating daily but the quality
of food being consumed
2. Eat regular meals:
All
the food experts will tell you that it's better to eat little and
often.
When you eat regularly then you won't feel so hungry that you over-eat
when you do sit down to a meal. It also prevents you going for the more
sugary foods, as you get really hungry
and crave instant gratification
3. Never skip breakfast:
You
have heard the phrase, “Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a
Prince and Dine like a Pauper.” Skipping breakfast is like not filling
up your vehicle's tank with petrol, yet expect it to run perfectly on
all cylinders.
4. Eat balanced meals: Having a balanced diet speaks for itself. Your body will
run like a finely tuned engine if you eat the correct nutrients for your body
5. Discover low-fat:
A
few short years ago, low fat meant tasteless. It has all changed now,
low fat
is tasty and nutritious. Low-fat milk (semi-skimmed or if you dare
skimmed) for example delivers the same amount of nutrients as full-fat.
If you love cheese, the low-fat choice still
has a lot of flavour
6. Plan ahead:
This
is one of the surest ways to a successful diet. Planning the day/night
before what you are going to eat the next day gives you time to prepare
the right meals for you. Breakfast and lunch will be catered for, which
takes the worry out of trying to eat the
right thing
7. Get active:
Start
walking short distances, to the bus stop/train station, instead of
driving your car. Get off the bus or train one stop before your usual
stop and walk the rest of the way home. Use the stairs at work, get up
from your desk and walk to the next floor
to see your colleagues instead of using the phone. And something I tend
not to do at work. Leave the office.Even if you've brought your lunch to
work, take thirty minutes and go for a
walk around the block, just to clear your mind. It is important to work
up a bit of a sweat too, to get your heart pumping (but not during your
lunch period of course) Exercise, most
experts will tell you is not only good for the body, but the mind
as well. My best ideas I discovered are born whilst I am exercising my
body
8. Don't deny yourself:
I
mentioned earlier that it is very easy to get caught cheating. What I
mean (for instance) is perhaps you have been craving a bowl of ice cream
or a cream cake, but, you think...”I am on a diet...I can’t go there”.
So you are miserable and curt to
everyone because you think you can’t have what you want. Eventually you
have it anyway and feel guilty afterwards. Wrong move. The thing to do
is to say to yourself I can eat ice cream or
whatever I want, whenever I want and have some. And then schedule a walk
or some additional physical exercise into your daily routine for the
next couple of days
9. Treat yourself:
When you have been sticking successfully to your programme and
you begin
to notice the changes in your body, buy yourself that pair of shoes or
handbag you've
always wanted, but felt was a bit too extravagant. Or go out with your
best friends on a pamper/spa day...Have fun; play your favourite game.
My favourite pastime is playing scrabble and I
have become a bit of a champion around my family and friends circle.
Scrabble, that's my thing! What will yours be
10. Celebrate your successes:
So you are about a quarter way through to your goal, how do
you celebrate
this first milestone? Think of something that you can do to truly mark
this
achievement and motivate you to continue. Do something that really
makes you feel good and that you will enjoy and will be momentous
